Dodson are excited to re-introduce their expanded range of products for the 7DT PDK transmission. They have expanded the range to include more effective Superstock 6 options for street and track use, as well as repeating the majority of the 4WD offering to cover 2WD variants.
The clutches from Dodson are tailored-made for horsepower upgrades and demands track days, conditions that often pushes OE clutches beyond the limits. The 7DT PDK clutches are compatible with a range of Porsche models that includes the 911, Carrera, Cayman, Boxster and Panamera.
7DT PDK dual clutches are factory-sealed units that requires precision machining and the addition of replacement, high engineered components in order to service and replace the clutch plates. Dodson’s patented method uses a specialized CNC-cutting process to remove the permanently sealed OE lid by replacing this with our patented removable billet lid and ring setup which both increases the strength of the clutch and makes the unit serviceable going forward. Dodson clutches boast heat treated high strength billet steel inner baskets, high performance Exedy frictions, alloy tempered steel plates, and a higher plate count versus OE by delivering superior response and torque capacity compared to stock clutches.
Dodson’s aluminum alloy front clutch cover cure the leak that develops on the OE cover following hard driving and track days. The Dodson clutch cover is included with all clutch upgrade kits, and can also be brought separately for use on vehicles that does not require a new clutch but have developed a leak.
Given the precision CNC machining required on the clutch core, all clutch upgrades is performed by Dodson at their headquarters facility in New Zealand. Dodson covers round-trip shipping expenses for 7DT PDK clutch transmissions worldwide, and will return the clutch in their signature blue plastic case. They take pride in their swift service in most cases, we can turn them around in just one week, and sometimes even faster. Efficiency is Dodson’s goal by their unwavering commitment to quality means that on some rare occasions, delays might arise due to CNC adjustments or assessment of an issue with the clutch core conducted by their engineering team. They avoid exchanging cores, as learned that OE cores can vary by condition and wear and tear.
Dodson also offer a full range of 7DT PDK transmission components either that is prone to failure or necessary for service that includes stub shafts, sumps, filters and more. Parts are made in New Zealand and are tested in service on our 991.2 Turbo S shop car.
