Co-ordSport’s Moh Reaches Top Ten At Donington Park

Co-ordSport’s sponsored driver Moh Ritson achieved two fifth place finishes at Donington Park last weekend during the Britcar Dunlop Endurance Championship. The Woodhouse Grove A-level student narrowly missed his first ever podium sport due to an error involving the deployment of the safety car.

An incident occurred at Redgate where the safety car deployed directly in front of the race leader the “TRICO-sponsored Ginetta G50, which was being driven by reigning Britcar champion, Sarah Moore”. This error allowed the cars in forward positions to complete their lap, this left the other racers stuck behind the safety car which they were not allowed to overtake. This left Moh along with other cars a lap behind through no fault of his own. During the time of the incident Sarah was trying to get into the fourth position, unfortunately she was unable to take a place on the podium.

Moh began his second race, which was his first ever race start with an excellent opening stretch before handing the reigns over to Sarah Moore for the second half of the race.

After achieving two fifth place finishes Moh described his experience during this season as invaluable as his career progresses “The car felt great all weekend, I felt very comfortable from the opening practice session, thanks to the TMS team who helped produce an amazing set-up”. “It was a shame that we couldn’t translate the speed we had for a podium in race one. In race two, I took the opening stint for the first time and loved it! I managed to get the tyres up to temperature, which meant I could be aggressive straight away, and made up a couple of positions. I also managed to avoid contact, while there was a big spin nearby which, yet again bought out the safety car.

Sarah Moore described her experience of the incident that occurred involving the safety car. “Driving a Ginetta G50 behind a safety car was also a new experience, which I felt I dealt with very well. I stayed calm and focused, trying to keep the temperature in the tyres and make a clean restart”.

We will be hearing more from Moh as the Britcar Championship moves onto round five, this will take place at Oulton Park on the 22nd June.
