Final Sprint Event 13th September 2015 – Curborough Spring Circuit
Another good result for the Part-Box Swift (Jamie Exton) placing 3rd out of 7 competitors. considering all the changes that were made throughout the season i think we have had a vast amount of positive outcomes. earlier in the season there was a clip missing inside the sequential shifter and we were unable to finish this event. After fixing the problem we then went on to place second on numerous occasions. The Swift really progressed throughout the season, then we decided to change the ECU From the DTA Fast S60PRO to a Typhoon 2, the reason for the change was that the DTA was not compatible with the the VVTI and the Typhoon is compatible. when the Typhoon 2 was first fitted we were not able to use the clutchless shifts as the cut off switch had to be changed. We thought this might affect the times at the event on the 29th August 2015, going on to place second we found the car was smoother with the new ECU and still enable us to perform some quick times, also another award we recieve was best prepared car whcih was a very rewarding trophy. Onto the last event were we manage to change the switch and get the fuel cut working, this enable us to plug into the car and adjust the fuel cut which made the shift even fast than it was originally, giving us a positive outlook on the last event and placing in 3rd position.
Now the season is over we are going to be sending the Swift back to SW Motorsport, as they are assembling and tuning our new 1.6 engine with the new AT Power throttle bodies, the engine will also be fitted with the following forged parts, Wiseco piston, Bridgeway conrods, Kelford cams and Supertech Valves. We are hoping to achieve around 200BHP out of the new engine. This engine will run with all the existing upgrade such as the Cusco LSD, SQS sequential shifter with dog gears, Piper 4 branch stainless manifold / exhaust system, HKS Oil filter, Koyo Radiator, Cusco catch tank, AP Racing competition big brake kit, Cusco suspension, Whiteline anti-roll bars, Rays wheels, Magnecor leads, Sparco seats, TRS Harnesses and Cusco Roll cage.
