More success for Moh
Formerly sponsored by Co-ordSport, Moh Ritson has enjoyed great success in his first year driving a McLaren 570S GT4 with Paddock Motorsport, who headed into the final weekend of the GT Cup Championship in 4th place with 2nd place still in reach.
Rain throughout the day on Friday impacted testing and provided a challenge to Moh who had to adapt to the low grip of the wet and slippery Snetterton track. The following morning started positively for Moh as he qualified P2 and set himself up promisingly for the Sprint Race. Heavy rain and a tough start weren’t enough to deter Moh as he fought back from P5 to win the race by 11 seconds and claim the fastest lap of the race.
The rain continued to interrupt races throughout the day with the red flag signalling the end of one race in which Moh finished in P8, having served a success penalty.
By Sunday the rain had cleared and Moh’s co-driver Tom achieved P2 in a Sprint Race which left the team 2nd in the championship by 1 point and with one race to go. It all came down to the final race and whoever finished ahead between Paddock Motorsport and Balfe Motorsport would claim P2 in the championship.
Despite Moh’s strong driving, electrical issues and oversteer held the team back and they slipped into P3 with P4 just behind. After a tense finish, Moh and Tom finished on the podium and finished P2 in the championship in their debut year.
Congratulations to Moh and the team on an impressive debut year and best of luck for the future!
