A history of

1972

Peter Collinson bought his first car- OK he was only 16 and too young for a license, but his Dad would drive the car to a local disused airfield near york (Acaster Malbis) and then Pete could start to learn- it was a steep learning curve and he admits to not being a great driver still; although, it didn’t diminish his love for cars and driving. As is often the case, the love for his first car has remained strong – The Hillman Imp

Summer of 1972 – Peter has only just left shool (Nunthorpe Grammar School, York) and it’s a long way from Co-ordSport being established, but we want to show it was Peter Collinson’s developing passion for cars & motorsports that persistantly led him towards establishing Co-ordSport, and the business evolved around Peter’s motorsports activities and interests.
