Co-ordSport’s Sponsored Driver Moh Ritson Delivers More Success At Silverstone
Co-ordSport sponsored racing driver, Moh Ritson, continues with his impressive racing career – including two more finishes at Silverstone and more championship points in the Britcar’s Dunlop Endurance Championship.
Leeds and Tockwith Motorsports (TMS) driver, Moh Ritson, continued with his points tally, alongside his teammate and reigning Britcar Dunlop Endurance Championship champion Sarah Moore, at Silverstone at the double race weekend, for round two of the series.
Moh, a 16-year-old A-level student from Woodhouse Grove School is very much in at the deep end and racing alongside vastly more experienced drivers and he’s certainly demonstrating that he is more than capable at competing at this level. The Co-ordSport -sponsored TMS Ginetta G50 is one of the nicest designed cars on the grid and in the hands of Ritson and Moore is only going to make its way further up the grid as the season progresses.
In qualifying the Ritson/Moore partnership managed to drive well round a greasy Silverstone and place the car in position 5 for race 1. Moore started the race and drove through the traffic well and half way through the race she handed over to the Co-ordSport sponsored Ritson. The format of the pit stops meant that the team lost a few positions, but he held his position taking the flag in 8th – a mature drive and most importantly, he kept the car on the track when other, more experienced drivers, didn’t.
The car started race 2 in the grid position it finished race 1 (8th) and once again Sarah Moore set off at pace. A swift pit-stop by the excellent TMS crew left Moh with 10 seconds to spare before being released onto the famous Northamptonshire Grand Prix circuit. Due to the length of the track, Ritson had another relatively quiet race but crossed the line in a very positive 6th position.
Moh said, “Every time I get into the car I get more experience and learn a great deal through my teammate and mentor Sarah. I have homework to do in preparation for our next outing at Brands Hatch in a couple of weeks’ time and can’t wait for round 3. I know that we are improving race by race and my goal of working towards a podium finish is certainly on course.”
Peter Collinson, Director at Co-ordSport Limited commented, “It was a weekend of good solid driving by Moh and we are all thrilled that his progress is proving so successful. Our company are delighted to be associated with him and we will work closely on projects together when the opportunity is there to do so, such as carrying his images on some of our vehicles. I’m looking forward to the next round at Brands Hatch on 11th May, and hope to be there as we have heard that it’s always an action-packed race and the Fusion By Design Ginetta handles itself well round the Kent track.
