ATHENA GASKETS
AT THE HEART OF EVERY GREAT PROJECT
The head gasket is a complex and crucial technological component.
To meet the ongoing needs of the market, Athena conducts meticulous checks on its head gaskets, both during the design phase and during bench tests.
Athena head gasket can be produced using different technologies, for example, by combining metal and elastomer or multilayer with Athena steel and coating materials.
Choosing a top-quality gasket is the first step towards a reliable engine.
CUT RING GASKETS
(part number 330 > )
Produced in very high quality stainless steel cut rings exceed the sealing capabilities of conventional fire rings and optimise engine performance.
FEATURES
- Use of reinforced material M0115 renowned for being asbestos-free, original equipment approved, superior
- Supplied with separate stainless steel rings (AISI 304) ensuring maximum sealing around the cylinder bore also on engines with NOS and/or turbo applications in which boost exceeds 2 No head and block machining is required.
- Silicon-based beading is applied on critical areas to improve sealing around all water and oil cooling
INSTALLATION NOTES
Please ensure the embossments are facing the engine head.
MATERIAL
MO115 MOTOR GASKET
Available in different thicknesses-from 1.00 mm to 2.00 mm
Description
MOTOR GASKET MO115 consists of a central core with four pegs. On both sides of the core, a soft, asbestos-free material is applied, which contains a blend of inorganic fillers, high-grade aramide fibres and NBR as a binder.
Application
It is suitable for cylinder head gaskets in internal combustion engines, intake manifolds and other sealed areas exposed to high mechanical and thermal stress.
Properties
It has good mechanical and thermal resistance and adapts optimally to sealing surfaces. It is resistant to oil, fuel, water and antifreeze or corrosion inhibitor liquid mixtures.
Surface
Colour: Grey.
Surface treatment: a special top-coating is applied to improve micro-sealing, along with silicone beading.
CUT RING GASKET MANUFACTURING PROCESS
1. PRESSING PROCESS
Each gasket is pressed to achieve optimum flatness according to the required tolerances.
2. SILICONE BEADING
During this process, silicone beading is applied over the critical areas on the gasket, to increase sealing around the liquid passages (water and oil).
3. FINISHING
Applying several surface coatings enables the gasket to perform better, preventing any adhesion and ensuring high temperature resistance.
