Co-ordSport’s MD and majority owner, Peter Collinson, was a co-driver in the 1983 Lada Challenge. Driver and owner of the Lada VAZ-2101 was Digby Allen. It was a great way into motorsport, on a modest budget, with reasonable reliability. The car, which was strong and tidy, was prepared by Digby, with assistance from local garages in Dorset.
Those rally weekends involved travelling over on the overnight car ferry from Jersey on the Thursday or Friday, and same to get back overnight on Sunday, straight into work at the bank on the Monday morning!
